Happy birthday to my sweet, not-so-baby-anymore boy!

Today is a little bittersweet! My sweet little boy went from this:

to this:

in the blink of an eye!  How is that possible??  Just yesterday, he was toting around his te-te (that was his lovey's name) and sucking on two of his fingers! When and how did this take place?  No one asked me if it was okay...I would NOT have allowed such a thing to happen!

Honestly, Wade has turned into one of the most interesting kids that I know (maybe I'm a bit biased...but I see a LOT of kids).  He is funny, smart, sweet, caring, and, yes, more than a tad bit devilish.  He has an adult's grasp of humor and can hold his own in a conversation with anyone.  He definitely keeps me on my toes!

I didn't plan for him to be an only child, but fate and circumstances intervened.  It has been just us as a family for much longer than he, his dad and I were.  Given all that has taken place in the years since he was born, one thing is certain.  I wouldn't change a minute of it because it has all brought us to where we are today. 

I remember when they told me that I was having a boy.  My first thought was "Oh my gosh!  What will I do with a boy?"  After 10 years, I now think "Oh my gosh!  What would I do without him?"

Out on a Limb

I have been staring at my new blog (!) for a day and a half now...I want to write and share like so many of the ladies that I eagerly read every day, but it is so unlike me to put myself out there like this.  The big question is do I have anything worth saying? 

I think that I do.  I started this blog to hopefully entertain and inspire others as I have been entertained and inspired.  This is not a "mommy" blog...or a "librarian" blog...or a "crafting" blog...or even a "cooking" blog.   It will be a mix of all of the above with any other types that I have forgotten thrown in for good measure! :)

Be sure to check back often for a laugh, a cute craft, a suggested read or a yummy recipe.  You never know what you might find!
